Good news for people living with HIV/AIDS: a recent study indicates that younger people living with HIV have an average life expectancy that has increased by 15 years since the advent of antiretroviral medication. The study notes that gains aren’t spread evenly across all people diagnosed with HIV. Not everyone has equal access to health care, for instance. But it is more evidence that HIV therapy has come a long, long way from the dark days of the 1980s and early 1990s.
Early detection and proper treatment are more important than ever. When was the last time you were tested for HIV?
